Autumn experiences
Ruska is certainly the favorite season for many Finns: warm colors, soft light, and generous nature—all without a single mosquito to bother you. Lose yourself in the colorful forests searching for berries or mushrooms, explore the national parks, and soak up this unique atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of the tourist months…
Ruska also marks the gradual return of the night, and therefore the northern lights...And contrary to what one might think, it is sometimes the best time to see them!
Autumnal tasting hike
Autumn in Lapland is a true gift from Mother Nature. Countless berries adorn the forests, mushrooms spread their gentle fragrance through the undergrowth… Predators are busy filling their stomachs before a long and harsh winter… Set out to discover this rich autumnal nature with your nature guide, taking the time to collect whatever interests you. Afterwards, we will enjoy a traditional Finnish meal around the fire, incorporating elements gathered during the hike whenever possible.
Duration : 3h
Includes : Outside lunch
Hike with our dogs
Discover autumnal Lapland in harmony with our furry friends! Odin, Ukko, Leiko, Ikran, and Yuki will gladly lead the way. The program includes hiking through colorful forests and pristine landscapes, but above all, it’s a true moment of bonding with your four-legged companion. Learn to pick the berries they love, give them cuddles, or simply let yourself be carried along by their unstoppable “will to go”! We will also pause for a snack around the fire.
Please note : Our dogs are trained for pulling, which can make some sections of the activity physically and/or technically challenging (especially downhill). A minimum level of physical fitness is required.
Duration : Around 2,5h
Includes : Snack
Twilight hike followed by a meal around the fire
Ruska is a prime season for observing the Northern Lights. We therefore suggest killing two birds with one stone: we will set out on a beautiful forest hike in the glow of the setting sun. Once the hike is over, we will settle in a traditional “laavu” by a lake to enjoy a well-deserved meal. This location will allow us, if conditions are favorable, to have an unobstructed view to the north of the magical and precious phenomenon that is the Northern Lights.
Duration : 3h
Includes : Outside diner
Guided hike in Riisitunturi national park
Set out on a colorful hike to discover the magnificent Riisitunturi National Park. Known for its snow-covered trees in winter, during this season it dons its colorful autumn coat and offers breathtaking panoramas.
Two possible routes: a short 4 km route or a long 10 km route (available only outside the snow season).
Duration : 3h or 5h
Includes : Snack (4km) or lunch (10km)
